Data deletion instructions

1. Overview
This page explains how to remove data that Axel has collected about you or your Meta (Facebook and Instagram) accounts. It applies to customers who have connected Meta accounts to Axel via Facebook Login for Business, as well as to anyone who has interacted with our marketing site or sales team.
2. Disconnect Axel from your Meta account
You can revoke Axel’s access to your Meta data at any time. Either method works and takes effect immediately:
From inside Axel. Sign in at app.getaxel.app and go to Settings → Integrations → Meta, then click Disconnect.
From Facebook. Go to Facebook → Settings → Business Integrations, find Axel in the list, and choose Remove. This revokes the access token Axel uses to call the Meta Marketing API on your behalf.
Once Axel is disconnected, we stop making new API calls for your account and the access token is invalidated.
3. Request deletion of stored data
Disconnecting stops new data flowing in. To also delete data Axel has already cached, email privacy@getaxel.app from the email address associated with your Axel account and include:
- The Meta user ID, Page ID, or ad account ID(s) involved (if known).
- The Axel organisation name or workspace ID.
- A short description of what you want deleted (e.g. “all cached Meta data”, “my Axel account”, or specific records).
We confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations described below. We will email you when the deletion is complete.
4. What gets deleted
When you submit a deletion request, the following are removed:
- Your Meta access tokens and refresh tokens.
- Cached Meta profile information (Meta user ID, name, email, profile picture) tied to your Axel account.
- Cached ad-account, campaign, ad set, ad, creative, audience, and performance records pulled from the Meta Marketing API for the accounts you specify.
- Reports, recommendations, and AI-generated artifacts derived from that Meta data inside Axel.
- On request, your Axel user record, organisation membership, and any prompts, chat history, or files you uploaded to Axel.
5. Automatic deletion on disconnect
When you disconnect Axel from Meta without submitting a separate deletion request, we automatically purge cached Meta data within 90 days of the disconnect, except for aggregated metrics that no longer identify an individual user or account.
6. Retention exceptions
We may retain a limited subset of data after deletion where the law requires it — for example, billing records for tax and accounting purposes, security and audit logs needed to investigate abuse, and backups that are cycled out on a rolling schedule. This residual data is access-restricted and is not used for any other purpose.
7. Marketing-site data
If you only interacted with our marketing site (for example, requesting a demo or joining the waitlist) and want that information deleted, email privacy@getaxel.app and we will remove your contact details from our CRM and email tools.
